Brad A. Johnson is a freelance writer specializing in food and travel. He's the only critic in America to win both the James Beard Award and the Cordon Bleu World Food Media Award for restaurant criticism—the two largest prizes a food critic can win in America and worldwide, respectively. Brad’s food writing has also garnered awards from the Association of Food Journalists, the Society of Professional Journalists and the Jesse H. Neal Business Journalism Foundation.

Brad’s travel writing is equally renowned, having won prestigious international awards for topics as wide ranging as tracking 800-pound mountain gorillas in Uganda’s Impenetrable Forest to traversing the globe's 42nd parallel in search of that lattitude's greatest chefs. He has visited every continent and has traveled by train, boat, bicycle, vintage car, private jet... even by camelback. In 2007, Brad was the only magazine travel journalist from the United States invited to fly aboard the maiden flight of the Airbus A380 Super Jumbo, the world’s largest airplane, on it’s inaugural route from Singapore to Sydney.

Brad is a longtime contributing reporter at Food & Wine, and he previously served as the national food and travel editor at Modern Luxury Media, the USA's largest publisher of luxury lifestyle magazines. Brad's writing and photography have appeared in more than 30 publications worldwide, including Robb Report, Angeleno, Manhattan, San Francisco, Riviera, Mexico Today, Sunset, New York Post, Plate, and Mandarin Oriental's MO.

Brad’s award-winning dining reviews have been studied in the journalism curriculums at UCLA, Ohio State and Texas State universities. Brad has appeared as a culinary expert on NBC News, WGN Radio and Travel Channel Radio.
